Waking up in hell was not Del Bellator's idea of a good time. She'd rather be back on earth, killing demons and hunting down magical treasure for her shop, Ancient Magic.

Turns out that escaping hell is easy - it's staying out that's hard. Del's death magic defies the laws of the supernatural world. Worse - she doesn't know how to control it. If others learn what she is, it's guaranteed persecution by the Order of the Magica. And Del already has a deadly and forbidden secret - she shares a soul with a dragon.

Things get sticky when Roarke Fallon, Warden of the Underworld, shows up on her doorstep wanting to drag her back to hell. He's a one-of-a-kind shifter - the most powerful she's ever met - and he's set his sights on her. Helping him catch an escaped demon gives her an opportunity to win her freedom, but only if she teams up with Roarke. She'll have to use her forbidden magic to get the job done. And that is a recipe for discovery...and disaster.

Magic Undying Dragon Gift The Seeker Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Linsey Hall Laurel Schroeder Bonnie Doon Press Books

What a fun read! I was actually reading a book by another author, but had to put it down so my daughter could finish it. I picked this up on Amazon and was delighted I did so. It's been years since I'd read another Lindsey Hall book. In Magic Undying, Del Bellicourt's definitely dead, or so everyone assumes, until she wakes with a heartbeat and needs to escape the underworld. Once out she's not safe and has been poisoned, a level 5 demon to locate and the Warden of the Underworld to contend with. Her friends Cass and Nix are there to help out should she need them, but most of Del’s time is spent with Roarke, the warden.
What can I say, oh sure, Roarke is gorgeous, strong, smart, wealthy, lethal and totally intrigued by Del and yet he still plans to return her to the underworld since she died AND rules are rules and must be followed. Del's more then a little attracted to Roarke, but has no desire to get dragged back to the underworld. She's attractive, lethal, smart, deadly, and has plenty of secrets she does not want to get out to out to the Order. She also is tied to death in ways yet to be explored.
Del Bellator’s simple life as a Demon Hunter and treasure hunter has come to an end and she must now embrace who and what she is as the "Guardian".

This book was such a fast read which made me think about the afterlife what with the Arthurian legends, crossovers into other belief systems and mythologies. It also had dragons and other supernatural beings and demons. Anyway, enough of that, this book was a great story. I've just picked up the next book in the series, Demon Magic.

Magic Undying Dragon Gift The Seeker Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Linsey Hall Laurel Schroeder Bonnie Doon Press Books Reviews

I have survived 68 years, and many "adventures" of my own. Though no where near what these characters have survived. I'm really enjoying this series; the combination of historical "myths" and Ms. Hall's imagination are the ticket for a great ride.
The story has a strong start with Del in the Underworld. She definitely makes a more interesting character than Cass in this second series. Her love interest also proves more intriguing than Aiden, at least for now. While I still like the world the story is set in and found the Merlin/Guinevere/Arthur angle way more interesting than I expected, I was not a fan of the instant loss of brain cells in Del when she sees the Warden. And the constant "shivering" when they touch was over the top. This makes it hard to believe in the romance and puts Del (and women in general) in an unflattering light. I firmly believe you can be very attracted to someone and not be a hormonal ditz in every scene with your crush. I can only hope this gets cleared out in the next installment.

For those who read Cass's story, you'll find a lot of similarities. Cass seems to dominate several scenes in this book at the expense of Nix and Del. I personally found it a little awkward because it occasionally felt like our main character faded into the background while Cass shouted orders. This was really only in a couple scenes, but it hit me wrong.

Despite the strong start, I feel the book finished weakly. The last chapter has some heavy whining from Del that verges on childish and the closing scene was very predictable.
The beginning of Del's series starts off 2 weeks after the conclusion off Cass' series. Del awakens to find herself in the Underworld. In her quest to escape, she unintentionally releases a demon. This demon attacks her and inflicts a poison that will, in fact, turn her. On top of all this, the Warden of the Underwor!d is after her. A great start to her series!
If you like reading action/adventure stories with alot of magic; this is a very good series. Just finished book 1 of the Seeker Series, ready to buy the second one. These three young women wake up in a field, dirty and starving. They have no memory of who they are or how they got there at first. They start finding out that each of them have very powerful but different powers; so they team up. Very good reading!
I absolutely loved this book. I wanted to order her series "The Huntress" first but by mistake order this first and so enjoy it. Will be ordering all of the "The Huntress" series. Grabs your interest from the very beginning and keeps it throughout. Reading the second one in the series now and already have the third waiting on my book shelf.
Aside from a few editorial issues (Del drank boxed wine and a few paragraphs later it was referred to as beer and than wine again, this has happened through out all of the books and I'm pretty sure *SPOILER ALERT* that in the short novel I got when I registered to the mailing list, it was said that they had bought their building but since the device I was reading the novel on had died, I can't be sure), other than that, even though the plot developed as I expected it to, it was a fun, high paced read that helped developed Del's character further.
No sex, just sparks flying all over the place which is nice, at least for me, since most of the books in this genre are more into the romance thingiemabob than the actual story and character development.

Was a good read and I'm waiting for the next books to follow.

16/07/2017 - EDIT
Seems like those editorial glitches have been cleaned out of the current copy I posses, which is great, shows the author is attentive.
My take on this book and the series, as well, hasn't change. It is a great read and I'm enjoying myself tremendously.
Sometimes a story is a perfect fit for that moment in your life. This is one of those stories. At a time when I was questioning things in my present and future I popped the cover of Magic Undying.

The tale was a great fit for my needs of the moment. Our heroine escapes dying (or does she?) in the first few pages... and continues on while trying to figure out why. While I do not have her magic nor her fate I understand the conundrum all too well, a dance with a pulmonary embolism granted me a close up on mortality and then similar questions.

Thanks for a rousing thinking person's adventure tale. Especial thanks for the historical clarifications in the afterword, it added a special something extra that I greatly appreciate.
